Hey guys, what kind of fish do you catch off the pier? Thinking of taking my son there tomorrow. Would like to know what to use if possible. Thanks in advance

Hi! I am glad to hear that dam was repaired and that there were fish stocked.

My father loves fishing there for the northers. I need to know if the fishing pier was fixed? The last time that I drove in to take a look the front left railing was off and laying on the pier. That is the only way that I can take my father.

Thank you in advance for any information!

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you know the annual kids ice fishing clinic at Vern Wolf Lake that was scheduled for this Saturday has been cancelled due to worsening ice conditions. The forecasted warmth and rain this week certainly won't help. Thanks.

Hit up Vern Wolf on Saturday the 16th in conjunction with the ice fishing clinic we hosted there. Fished 7-3 and went 4 for 7 on flags. Had a couple of flags right away and thought the bite was on. Ended up being pretty quiet all day, though. Three pike (max 22") and one little perch. Also jigged like crazy with the kids but couldn't locate any panfish. All our marks were either close to the bottom in the shallows or suspended at 4' over deep water. Raised a few, but no bites.

For those who don't know, the dam has been rebuilt and several fish stocking events have already occurred. Vern Wolf should be well on its way to becoming the popular community fishing resource it once was (biased much?). As always, feel free to contact me directly with local fishing reports. Otherwise, I don't mind coming here to read them.

Good luck everyone!

I fished at Vern Saturday and Sunday afternoon, we had a couple of flags all small northern. Biggest was 18". Tried finding the pan fish but didn't have any luck. I had the camera down for quite a while and only saw one northern.
