Well, went up and fished for 3 days. The only thing we could get into the boat was panfish again this year. Tried deeper holes and the drop-offs to them. We marked all kinds of fish but couldn't get more that a couple of hits with no fish in the boat. Tried jigs on the bottom with crawler and all different sizes of minnows and walleye suckers, with tails, without tails, floater jig heads with fat heads, lindy rigs and couldn't get any of the fish to bite. Talked with a guy that lives on the lake and was out musky fishing.... He confirmed walleye are tough. He said with the abundance of pan fish, he thinks that the walleye just sit, when they get hungry, they just grab a stunted pan fish.

We did have a good tiime camping here again, and will probably try it again next year around the same time. One of these years I hope we can hit it right. We found the fish, just couldn't get them to cooperate. I guess that's why they call it fishing and not catching.

Thanks to all for your help and sugestions.

This is not the best fall walleye lake in the area. Musky good walleye fair to bad. I would check out other lakes if you are after walleyes Ice fishing it gets good again. I don't know what the reason the fall eye fishing is poor but it just is.

This lake is not well known for the walleye, but there are some in there. If the lake has turned over by the time you are there in Mid-October, you may want to fish deeper. Straight out from the second finger of the lake (second to the west) there is a well-weeded hump that comes from 25ft up to about 6 or 7ft. Fish the drop-off where the mud line hits. Just a suggestion. Also note that I have heard there is a mill-foil weed problem in this lake that is being addressed, but has not completely disappeared. Make sure to check your boat thoroughly when leaving the lake. Good luck to all.

I have a handmade marked up lake map of Upper Gresham I got several years ago. It might have some useful info on it for your trip.

Go to the following link to get a copy or send me a message via the Messenger and I will email you a copy.

You won't get alot of help from people on this lake but i'll try. Try the two humps off the campground point thats furthest south{ I think thats south} . There on the map as one, but there are two. Lots of pan fish on this hump during the day . Eyes at night. The bay next to it has bass and northerns as well as muskies. The long extended point that sort of breaks up the lake to make it look like a horseshoe is good for all species. Work out from the tip {on both sides} for eyes, perch and crappies, Deep. I used to drift a floating jig head or lindy rig with the wind with crawlers and small fat heads. I'd put out one of each until you figure it out. Good luck and drop me a message on how you did. I can't wait to get back up there again !! Scottay
