MOON PHASE (89%)
Waxing Gibbous
Stopped at a couple spots between Albany and Belleville to wade around a bit and see if any northern were around. Was surprised as I've read reports of lots of people catching them there....

Good thing is it was water I'd never seen and I never realized how wadeable it was. May be decent prospects for summer time.

Fished 3 different sections of this river in the last 3 weeks. Sure seemed like fishy water. Managed one small pike in a deep pool below Belleville, otherwise skunked. We really enjoyed wading these sections, but just can't figure the fish out. Maybe it's just the time of year. Or maybe it's the anglers..heh.

It rained most of last night and the water level in the river is starting to come up. I hope this will let me go up river where the fishing is better. The cooler air temperatures after next week should also help. Smile

An other almost prefect afternoon and evening for fishing a light breeze and the water was like glass. We caught 20" northern and some small bass less then 15". It seams as the weather is cooling off a little the fish are biting better. Always a lot of fun to be out fishing.

While fishing for northern pike I picked up a 18-1/2" bass north of Albany. The sugar river is always fun to fish you can catch almost anything and the shore along the river makes it seam like your out in the woods. Sometimes you can't catch anything and the boat ride thru the woods is great and at other times something bites on every cast. Smile

06 You can catch almost anything in the Sugar on a given day, all depends on the bait you use. Below the dam in Albany is a good place to start then work your way down past the bridge and south, the biggest problem you will have south will be if there are a lot of tubers??but if the fishing bad the tubers are quite entertaining ??

Was looking to wade to area but unsure of where to go. Any one who has been around the river and know the river mind telling me whether this river can be waded? You dont have to give me your spots just lookin to fish. Also are there any trouts that come through this river? Any information is appreciated!

Tight lines!

Can anyone tell me how the Sugar's doing for levels? NOAA shows it's going up in Albany, but I can't tell if it's rising everywhere.

Thanks.
