MOON PHASE (21%)
Waning Crescent

CONDITIONS
Cloudy

AIR TEMP
71° - 75° F

Many people forget that perch make two runs up this river.  Water gets colder and perch follow the bait fish heading up the river.  I was pleasantly surprised to land not 1, but a pair of 10+ inch perch.  Sure, there's small ones, but the patience to get these beauties, makes for good eats. That's a 9 x 9 brownie pan, and they're bigger than the pan.  Keep fishing all!!!

Netted 12 white suckers in about 20 min. Just starting. There are many species of sucker and they all run at different times. So you dont have to wait untill the walleye are done .

Ice on the Suamico River is SOLID. I checked 8 spots from about Lakeview street to the mouth and they are all 8-9 inches, with the exception of the mouth of the river, where it is about 6 inches at center. Snowmobiles and quads have been up and down the river quite a bit since Sunday. Going out today for some fish to see if I can snag a few perch.

I netted my limit of suckers last night (as many as I wanted to fillet). Not really thick but enough to keep us entertained for a few hours. Time for pickling and canning.
