I prefer to tip all of my lures with waxes. Even though it may seem like wasting two waxies for one whitefish, whitefish could bite either lure regardless if it came for the bottom one first or top. With the spoon or jigging rap, I put three waxies on the treble hook. This results in a bigger dust cloud that draws in whitefish. Spot wise varies, I went on Monday and fished about 24-26ft. Got a four man limit in five hours. We could've limited out earlier but I prefer to keep only big ones. I don't particularly go to sturgeon bay because it is a longer drive for me, I fish on the launches between Volks Landing, and Lime Kiln. There are Whitefish everywhere, if you need a suggestion, I suggest Bayshore County Park, even though it has a hill, you can drive on the ice from Dyksville, or go down with a Atv or Snowmobile. Tight line!
