When I ever go up their I all ways set a crab trap. I almost all ways caught enough for a fish fry but this year I did not catch as many dose anyone know what the deal is? I'm not complaining but it was fun watching the kids play with them. One more thing dose anyone know were I can find a fish crib?

Just wondering if anyone knows when crayfish go into hibernation for the winter. Also what is your preferred bait.

Heading out to star for the first time this week. I've read back through the reports, hoping to get on some smallies or eyes.

Is the crayfish situation still as bad as it sounds? Any pointers and information on the lake would be helpful!!

Thank you all for your postings. For the record, I have had good luck w/ walleyes at Pine Island--all around--but especially the northest corner at twilight. The bugs were UNBELIEVABLE. I bathed in DEET, and still they swarmed, bouncing into my head and ears. This year I am bringing a headnet. Couriously, it seemed to (almost) stop right at the stroke of 9pm. Also, in daytime, caught a 33" northern on a 7" Sebile 'Magic Swimmer' at the point directly to the south of Pine Island on the south side--the bottom of the 'U'. Anybody ever panfish Lone Tree? ..or any luck at White Sand? Also curious about the Manitowish river, below the damnn as it drains toward Little Rice and Boulder Lk., and above the damn, upstream towards Johnson creek/Fishtrap? Thanks. trs
