First time on this Mississippi backwater today. Plenty of good ice. People driving trucks up and down the slough next to shore. Not even an ATV on the over the berm side but lots of fishermen on and all around the deep water. Suspended crappies and some perch on the bottom. A few very nice ones. Saw some better northerns caught on tipups and tipdowns nearby.

Kinda wonder what happens here when the river rises? Things might get sketchy in a hurry?

Yes you can gamefish. Was there on the 7th. Fish were there but they wouldn't bite anything watched them with the camera. Seen some really nice fish though.

Curious about ice conditions as well. Are folks still venturing out over the berm to the Culvert?

Fished spring lake yesterday and did well. Came home with a dozen decent crappies and a couple decent perch. One crappie measured 14 inches and the largest perch was 13 inches. This was first time I've fished this lake.....well worth the drive. FYI don't forget your cleats!!

First time out on this lake.  There was a fishing tournament so lake was full hard to check out different spots.  Got 2 northern on tip ups and some small perch jigging.  There was a 15# northern on the board and some huge gills.  Will be back to check more spots.

Has anyone been out in the week or so?  How are the landings on the north and south end?

Thank you

Wow i was the last to post on here and that was a year ago lmao. Very quiet. Got a couple questions. first how is the ice on the first slough at the landing? I would guess there is plenty. second question is about the area heading over to the tracks. There is a culvert or small bridge? Thats where the deep hole is correct?? If so is there a current issue? Sketchy ice etc?

Just looking for ice and bite conditions. Hoping to be down on monday. If anyones around stop out and say hello. Ill be in the full blue ice armor. Bucket with vexilar stickers. big guy 6'6"
