Yesterday we fished two lakes in Washburn County and did real good. We caught a bunch of fish, everything from Northern, walleye, bass, bluegill, pumpkinseed, crappie to perch as well. We had a great time.

We had our best action in the 7 to12 foot zone, leeches were the bait of choice.

Good luck and good fishing,

Jim Stroede

Super windy day yesterday, fished one of the bigger lakes in the area. Walleyes were a no show, however the smallmouth bass and pike did well. Night fishing might be a better option for the 'eyes right now. Had some great clients out, tough day in the wind.

We caught some nice smallmouth bass this morning. Noticed crappies up shallow too.

When you guys say "flowage" are you referring to Yellow River that runs under 63 in Spooner?

Drove by the flowage on my way home tonight at 5 and there was one guy out there. I'm giving it a little more time before I venture out.

Walked out this morning about two feet on a few smaller lakes and seemed unsafe. Instantly cracking and water coming through the cracks. No one on Spooner flowage and I wasn't brave enough to check. Looked like someone broke through walking out by the park. Tomorrow things could change. If anyone can confirm decent ice it would be much appreciated as I am only up for the weekend. Thanks
