Anyone been to Fort lately? How are the weeds?  Are there still bunch of weeds flowing down the river?  Whitebass biting for the fall run yet? Thanks a lot

I was not successful using my "usual" way of fishing for catfish last night. Too many weeds and fast water with all the rain. So I put a Gulp alive watermelon pearl nightcrawler on a Trokar finesse hook with a thundermist three way--sinker about 2 feet down and a 2 and 1/2 foot leader on the worm. Threw this downstream from me about  4-5 feet from the wall And voila...a nice, healthy, fat cat. Worms seem to be working now as the watermelon pearl just shimmers in the night light.

The trolling bite is getting hot on newville side for eyes. #5 flickers various colors, salmo, and shad dancers. Eyes are hitting good in the river along Blackhawk island dragging crawlers or leeches. Whitebass are hitting there also

Just wondering if the river in Fort is fishable from shore still or do I need to rent scuba gear?

Fished a few spots in this area off the shore Wednesday afternoon. Along the shores I gathered up a paper grocery bag of fishing line lying on the shore and the edge of the river. Please pick up your old fishing line. All these spot have trash cans or dumpsters. If you bring it with you take it back. I also watched a group catching and keeping 3 and 4 inch white bass. Let them go so they can grow some more. :(

Agricultural pesticides like Atrazine washed off flooded farm fields. Very bad for people.

Don't eat the fish. Release every one.

 OR....

From Rappflow.org: "When leaves, twigs or other organic substances fall into water and begin decaying, they release compounds known as surfacants. This interaction breaks the surface tension, which in turn allows air to more easily mix with water and creates bubbles. These bubbles congregate as natural foam."

I see it when I fish on the wisconsin river too. I believe its created from rushing water through dams.
