on @ 6am off @ 11am. 4 small lmb, released. 2 northern pike ,released. 2bluegill , 4 crappie, north end then south end.
Scanning Rock again this morning for a while. Water temp was 60°F on the northern part of the lake. Marked numerous schools of fish while I was doing some mapping. Some were suspended around the 15 to 25' range over 35 to 45 FOW. Others were tight to the bottom. My camera battery was very low so I didn't get to do a lot of visual looking. Assume some that were larger fish off one of the rock bars were Carp, did drop the camera down and the bottom was all stirred up. But didn't see what they were (historically when the bottom is all messed up like this it's from Carp). Very nice out there this morning, lot better then the last time fighting the wind! Rick
MOON PHASE (63%)

Out on the marsh this morning for a few hrs. 4 largemouth (two 14s one 16 and one 18) plus a couple hungry northerns, all on swim senkos, and all still swimming.
Paddled down from Hwy A for the first time, which was super easy. Tried also to get up into Mud Lake later, but about 2/3 way the reeds and cattails closed up on me.
Scanned more of Rock today, seemed a lot calmer when I headed out from Madison, but not much of an issue for what I was doing. Water temp at 3' was 57.1°F, at 25' it was 55.9°F. Lakes clarity varied but better then the Madison chain (nice change of pace!). Found some old cribs in 21 FOW. Marked numerous schools when I was doing my mapping project, tried to see what a couple of them were but they were on the move. Most were in the 20 to 30' range, just off the bars. Few other boats when I was out, would imagine that'll change tomorrow! Rick

on @ 11 AM, OFF @ 3 PM. Tried norh side ,to much wind. went to west side , 2 small bass, 1 walleye, 2 nortern. 5 medium gills all went back .
Not sure why you wouldnt call, Rock lake bass population has been on decline, fact that you didnt call make you just as guilty as them in my opinion. So many guys come on here and talk about violators but never do anything, I report all violators and dont think twice. I guarantee those guys will be out there catching and keeping many bass before season opens. Shame!!!
Saw a couple idiots last night throwing bass lures out on the bridge. Actually kept a bass too, they were nailing the bass tho, catching one about every 5 minutes. Thought about calling DNR on him.
Saw a couple other people legally fishing that caught about 10 blue gill and crappies in about 30 minutes.
