Beautiful evening on the lake, but not a single bite. I forgot to grab the bait on my way out the door, so I tried using some spinnerbaits and spoons without any success.

There were about five or six other boats out there. One guy at the launch said he was catching bluegills, bass and crappies with waxies on ice fishing jigs, but added there were no keepers in the bunch.

That's all I've got for now.

NOT A REPORT. Tonight’s weather report indicated there is typically 2 more 70 degree and 9 more 60 degree days left in the year.

One (1) 60 degree days is forecast for Monday, 30 Oct. That is the day I would like to target flyfishing for crappies on Rice Lake (Lower Whitewater) in the Southern Kettle Moraine S.P. Anticipate fishing from Mid-Morning to Mid or Late Afternoon in a ’77 Silverline Deep V Runabout.

Have room for one (1) additional person. If interested, please respond to:

bob@ctsfoodconsult.com

or, Lake-Link Messenger.

Brother and a buddy was out on Rice this morning. They said weeds up pretty heavy already. No fish, but they did see some nice bass near the shorelines along with the bluegills.

Went out on the 27th. Gills were bitting moderately. Went home with 27, but the size was only about 4-6 inches. Also had tipups set. On my rigs I had 5 flags and 3 fish. 1 LM Bass 16" (2-3lbs), 1 LM Bass only 13 inches, 1 pitiful Northern that was maybe a foot long. My buddy had 3 flags, no fish. Fishing never really picked up or slowed down. Just steady slow bite all day. Tipups were untouched till the early afternoon, then sometimes we had more than one flag at a time. I have a pic of the 16" Bass, but am having a terrible time getting it on the computer. Maybe I'll put it on later.
