Was wondering if anyone had any fishing tips for the area? Just a catch and release fisherman and wondering where some nice spots are. Does not matter what species.

I've always done well here catching Trout, bass, and panfish in the spring, summer, and fall. I'd like to do some ice fishing too. Does anyone have any idea what the ice is like on the quarry? Feel free to PM me!

I respectfully disagree, redrockfish. I do very well catching trout in the quarry, though the sizes are running small this year so they must be recently planted (8" to 10"). In past years I was catching 1 to 3 rainbows and browns between 10' and 13" during my daily half hour lunch break. They are deep- generally 20' to 40' down, and I almost have to use fluorocarbon 4# test line on an ultralight graphite rod. It's hard to feel them hit that deep and harder still to get a hook set. Use a 1/8 to 1/16 oz. jig with a redworm or a carefully hooked Gulp minnow tail. If it doesn't fall and swim naturally in the water, nothing will touch it. I have taught my techniques to other anglers, and they get limits once they get the hang of it. Good luck.

as far as trout in the quarry goes...yes they are in there but to be 100% honost with u i wouldnt waste my time up there tryin to catch them...extremly difficult. If u feel the need to check it out though ur best bet would b to get up there before ten in the morning and talk to the local guy who fishes up ther every morning. I stopped up there about a month ago and had a chance to talk to him...he's kinda loopy but when it comes to fishin you couldnt find a better source. I grew up in berlin and now live in redgranite and have only fished the quarry a dozen times or so....most fish i have seen caught or seen swimming were on the north end in a cove. if u walk around youll find it. Its they only place in the quarry where it looks like fish should be lol. Willow creek is an awesome trout stream...when the water isnt 2 feet too low lol

i live in redgranite and will b the first person to tell u that the trout in the quarry are tough to catch....in my opinion ur better off fishing willow creek for trout....if ur going to have any luck in the quarry ur best bet would b the north end....drive all the way into the back parking lot and take the trail over the makeshift wooden bridge....rumor has it there are a few gigantic cats in the quarry too...never caught one but seen i guy fighting one probably over 30 pounds...
