I put my boat in numerous times. I stay by the bridge.. North side of the parking lot on the west side is furthest I been up. And to the first corner down stream. Most of my fish are cought in 12' in the middle. But I have done well for panfish also. In shallower water.

What size craft can you launch at the landing? Seems to be shallow below the dam from what I can see from the bridge, how close can you get to the dam?
Also curious if there is any sort of run up Wilson Creek? I'm going to fish these spots after class this spring and will post my reports.
Your welcome! Last year at this time the spawn was in full swing. It is very far behind this year we need a warm rain or some warm days to get things going. Water temp was only 34-35 last weekend. To be honest this is my first year fishing it as I am new to the area.
If you'd like to chat send me a PM. Im definitely not new to walleye fishing so I have many tricks and would be curious to what you do as well. Also looking for someone to fish with some days if that interests you.

Shad are schooling very heavily in the river. I was able to snag a few with treble hooks then throw them out to catch waiting smallmouth. There were other fish but the smallmouth would hit before any other fish had a chance. Just was fishing in the park and the shoreline around it.

Been hitting up the Red Cedar River lately, and if anyone is looking to catch some mooneye for the smoker..they are everywhere! They are hitting everything from flies to small crankbaits to floating jigs! Probably caught 100 the past couple days! Also the small catfish have been hitting pretty decent on cutbait! Tight lines
