I recently bought my first fish finder for my rubber raft.A cool feature it has is creating lake maps.So I tested it out on Lake Erickson.

Tried a little bit of fishing on ericson over the weekend.I had a good time jiging for some blue gill.I almost go a really nice bluegill, but it got off my hook.I caught a small large mouth bass, and RELEASED IT.Over another fun weekend at ericson cant wait to fish for bass next weekend during open season.

Erickson never had much of a carp population- in fact I've never seen one in there. Bowfishing there - would have to be for bass- and I don't think that is legal (is it??)...

Many other ponds- enjoy- get em outta there! Just an FYI on Erickson! Cheers!

Didn't Walker pass a bill in 2013 saying that you can bowhunt (which I assume includes bowfishing) in local ordinances as long as you are 100 yards away from any building, unless otherwise granted permission. He also made it so local ordinances cannot put laws that further govern this into place, so you should be able to get away with bowfishing Erickson....

Maybe the lake can recooperate now... once ice fishing comes all these kids take every fish they catch ITS A TINY POND 5yrs from now there wont be anything worth going for... there barely is now good bass here and there sometimes u get lucky n catch a big gill lol, pike are becoming extinct, 10yrs ago it was prime, these "deforest ponds" shouldnt even be on this site... only gonna get worse glad i know some "private" places with BIG FISH but thats my secret Big Smile

Been driving by Lake Erickson, I love this little lake and fish it all the time, but the water has been a neon green for over 2 weeks now. Am assuming some chemical to kill weeds- hope it didn't kill everything else. I would not eat any fish out of there unless you wanna glow. Anyone with info, please let em know what is going on- that is my summer get away. Hope it survives. Weeds ain't that bad... Good luck all
