Went out on Saturday from 10 to 1 PM. Caught a 14" LM off of Eagle Point on a Wacky Worm. A 15" on a 1/4 oz. orange jig in 14 feet if water in the weedline off the west shore. Tough fishing in the wind and mist/rain. Both fish returned to the lake to fight again. Fun fishing on ultralight rod and reel.

Sunny

Got out this morning for a couple of hours.  Water temps were 69.5° with wind from the south.  I was hoping to hit the topwater bite, but it wasn't happening. Threw the Whopper Plopper and hollow body frogs to no avail. Tried hitting the dropoffs and transitions in the south end of the lake with no success.

Ended up with 3 LMB caught, all on a worm. 2- 2.5#ers and 1- 1.5#er. All 3 were healthy little chunks and swam away with vigor. :)  I had another that was bigger, probably 3# or so, throw the hook.  All fish were caught in approximately 5' of water near weedlines.

Went out Sunday the10th at 4am to noon, was great no skiers or tubers, at least not til 11am. Caught small eye early & let go, so I moved to 1 of my many places for crappies, caught 10 of them from 10 inches to 11 & a half & a cpl of gills. Water temp was at 64 degrees when I launched, at noon it got up to 66 degrees. Weeds r starting to die back which makes 4 easier trolling but this is the time for leaf drop which drops in the water which makes trolling tough on parts of the lake. Tight lines people!

Took the kids out to show them a good time after the fisheree Saturday and hopefully a few fish but didn't have a whole lotta luck.  We gave up on the fishing and decided to stretch the legs on the new boat.  Then our luck changed the cop on the lake stopped us for not having the stickers on the boat.  He confimed our application for the registration but then he gave us some good hints as to where to find some fish for the kids and gave the kids (and us) a quick course on safety. He also let us know that it could take some time to get our stickers from the state as he had run into people that had registered last year but still have not got their stickers.  So I am putting that out there for those who are still waiting for their stickers.  You aren't the only ones. So keep your registration or sales slip handy and keep on the state was his advice.  But the best part of the day was we got to boat a few gills and my boy even tore into a pike in the south bay by the park. Glad we ran into him or him to us because my kids got to have a great day on the lake and I got some good stuff to pass on.

Caught lots of gills, most were small but did manage to get some 8's & 9's. Did walleyes later from 8pm to midnight, got 2 walleyes but were small(11-13"). Now I was catching some nice eyes in the 16-22", the weird thing is, is that when the weather was stable for 3-4 days hard to catch them but when it was up & down with temps, rain, & wind I did much better, can't explain.  Crappies are nowhere to be found so I stay with gills during the day & walleyes at night or real early in the morning(4-6am). Well tight lines everyone & welcome those carp shooters just watch where your going, with 4 people in the boat & almost run into me, someone should be watching where they're going. I think D.N.R. should think about lowering length size on Northern Pike, so many small ones in the 12" to 20", it really gets annoying!

There is no public launch at the state park.

There are 2 public launches on the west shore, without parking.

But there are 2 private launches with parking, Johnies landing on the southwest side and the Reefpoint on the northwest side.
