MOON PHASE (9%)
Waning Crescent

We hit the ice at first light. Bounced around looking for gill most of the morning, finally found some near the perm shanties strait out from the launch. In the afternoon we got quite a few pike on tip-ups. Packed up around 5p.

Had a negative encounter with another fisherman.  He got there around 4p and was upset one of our shanties was near his perm shanty (10 yards?) and we were fishing where he wanted to be set up. Would have gladly shared a beer with him and there would have been no problem with him setting up between our tip-ups but he came in with the "this is my spot and you can't fish here attitude." Maybe he was having a bad day but it's been a long time since I met someone on the ice that wasn't friendly.

I also am a student in the area trying to catch some 'eyes. Let me know what you find out, if you don't mind sharing! Even if i can get out a couple times on late ice, it would be worth it!
