MOON PHASE (96%)
Waning Gibbous

Went out today for about hour and half. Walked out from the beach, shorelines are starting to get very bad and ice is honey combed pretty good but otherwise for fishing got nothing didn’t really try to hard since we’d been to a couple other lakes already but I think today is a wrap for my ice season

The shanty is now at a point where the roof is flush with the ice.Either it is on bottom or floating. The DNR has been notified.

What an idiot.

He will be charged for removal and fined as well.(unless he gets it off the lake)

Probably get a fine for pollutants.  Could be an auger inside with gas and oil, could be other stuff.  I believe they might recover it if it sinks and they will have to pay for that too. Attached is Reef Point landing and the shanty.

So what happens?  It sinks and that's it.  Does the DNR get involved?

Sorry for the ignorance.

It looks as though it has already fallen in. As I went past this morning I could only see about 2 feet of the top of it.

Last shanty on the lake for the year is starting to go through it looks like.  On the plus side I saw a bald eagle on Wednesday afternoon.

MOON PHASE (98%)
Waxing Gibbous

Was out yesterday afternoon/evening, walked out. Shorelines are degrading, I threw a 2x10 in the truck to span the gap just in case. Johnny's has a pier that got me beyond the questionable shoreline ice, so board wasn't needed.

Plenty of ice out on lake, 12"+. Beware of degrading holes though, did inspect some previously drilled and open holes that were surrounded by skim ice.

Caught some dink perch and a rock bass. Flags weren't flying either. Oh well, how often do we get the chance to ice fish in 55 degree weather?!

That's exactly what I thought yesterday when I drove past on hwy 60 & saw it sitting out there...guess it'll make for a nice artifical reef!
People can be such idiots.

Why does it seem that there is always one last shack out on Pike after the landings are shot?

Went and looked at the landings this morning (24th) and reef point looked like they cut a big section out to flatten the heaves but there is a little area to walk out on.  Can’t drive out there.  Went down the road to the boat launch and there was about 10” deep of open water before the ice.  Walked out and it felt solid but as always use your better judgement.  Saw a few smaller vehicles out at the northern side of the lake but unsure which area they used.
