thanks for the parking info. Life sort of got away from me this summer and have not had a chance to go out fishing since July (but want to). Now that water temps are starting to drop the eyes should start moving into shallower water. Went Bass Pro Shops fishing on the Wii game and caught a bunch of stuff though. Not the same thing unfortunately.

have been doing some trolling at night and nailing lots of Rockies up to 12 inches and some legal size bass. The walters seem to be hiding. Water temp has dropped to 68 degrees as of this morning. 12 degree drop since Saturday!

Coralman that is Hook, Line & Sinker bar not sure if it is open & yes you park at the bar, where the fee goes I do not know, which is why I buy an annual fishing pass at Reef every year.

If you park at Reef Point bar, make sure that when you park your truck & trailer that your trailer is on the grass & truck is on the gravel. Launch fees are the same in both places at $8.00, Reef has lighting for night fishing, Johnnies does not, also Reef has 2 sided launch, Johnnies is 1 sided.

Where do you park your vehicle and trailer once launched?

You can launch at the Reef Point tavern, or you can launch by Jonnies landing. There are signs for both places when you turn in off of highway 60.

I have not been on Pike lake yet but would like to. I stopped by the public access launch where it says "no parking on pavement" and the streets have no parking signs on them. Where are you supposed to park your vehicle and boat trailer for this launch? Around the corner to the right of the launch is a bar/tavern that looks boarded up and signs that say $4 for trailer parking. Is that the only parking area? If so, where do you pay the launch fee (the place looked abandoned)? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Late report. Out Saturday night. What an awesome moon! Out by myself on my 40th Bday trolling for eyes. I was working the deep side of the weed line. Slow going for the most part. Tried harnesses first and later switched to cranks. Besides hitting the weeds once in a while by myself the floating weeds from the rec boaters made it real hard to keep my lines clean. Should have just anchored. One pike just about legal and two nice eyes for my efforts. One was just over 20" and the other about 18". Caught one on a harness and one on a crank bait. Weeds definitely messed me up though. The one eye was from this winter on Pike as well, 25" (super cold, froze too quick didn't want to risk shoving it back in the hole and dying). Good luck.

Went out on Pike lake June 24th from 4pm -11pm, still real sore & have my walkin cast on now. We caught 2 walleyes, 1 undersized which we threw back, went for gills when we went out, caught some nice gills but not many pretty much done with the spawn. We started to troll shallow at 8:30pm, 1st fish was a lgmouth which was about 16 inches, caught 2 eyes like mentioned above but trolling was tough lots of algae bloom floating on surface. Caught several fish trolling but was a wide variety of fish, anything from rock bass, pike, lgmouths, & eyes. Once algae bloom sinks & gets off the surface the lake will have my full attention, have fun.
