Ive always wondered how much pressure this lake gets during ice -fishing.I know it would have to be a very cold winter to get that inlet to freeze up to get safe-enough ice.The people getting on are either land-owners on the lake or get permission from landowners for acess.Other way would be to use hip wadres and prepare to break through the ice numerous times if you plan on trying the 1/2hour trek by walk using the acess inlet
ive been out there many times and never caught more than a bunch of small gills and lots of 12 inch bass. the lake gets hit harder than you may think by fisherman all winter and although there is a report of a northern being caught i am highly skeptical because ive put out many tip ups through the ice and only landed bass. the river flows much to fast to freeze solid
Is it safe to walk the river west from Townline Rd? How long of a walk is it roughly? I have driven buy the "boat launch" many times and have always wondered how the fishing is on Pickeral. I am a new member to LL and was astonished to find the fishing reports as good as they are.
