What section of the river you plan on fishing?
Peshtigo River, Marinette County
I"ve fished river a few times in the past, like 12 years ago. My brother and I want to fish it again this summer with his 9 year old boy. We have secured a 16 foot mod V John boat for the float. All is good now. I come here to ask about the USGS flow rate levels. As of June 25, the flow is at 1000 cfm. Back when I floated the river, we never had resources like this. Does anyone know firsthand about the flow rates and what a safe level would be for floating and fishing?

We fished walleye from the shore at the mouth of the peshtigo river a week ago and caught 20 walleye before the wind/waves forced us to the beach. Equal success with husky jerks, jigs/plastic bodies and minnows. All the fish were spawned out and hungry!
Sorry not a report,
I Just bought a boat this year that I'm able to use for trolling on the bay, i have 4 rods and some boards and some flicker shads, I'm very new to this and I'm wondering if anyone can give me any information helping a new trolling guy out. I have tons of experience jigging walleyes but really wanna learn trolling. Is it worth coming up and fishing the mouth of the river for pre and post spawn walleyes? what would be a good technique? how does one go about trolling crawler harnesses? speeds for crawlers and cranks? any info would be greatly appreciated, feel free to PM me with info. Wanting to try saturday morning. Also willing to take an experienced trolling guy out on my boat to teach me and show me tips and tricks!
I have recently started making trips up to the Crivitz area with my father in law to hunt and fish near his brothers place on the Peshtigo but honestly I am not very familiar with the river or the lakes. I am curious to learn about the trout fishing in the river. Any suggestions to help me get familiar with the area. We ice fished the High Falls Resevior this last January and did ok with the crappies. i was hoping to get into some eyes but that didnt happen. Oh well maybe next time. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

We fished Green Bay a partial day on the 26th, and about 8 to 10 hour days 27th, and 28th. Did ok for for a couple Green Bay newbies, catching 10 to 12 eyes a day. Several fish in the 22 inch range, with about 6 or 8 fish over 26 inches. Biggest fish was a 30.25 caught on the 2nd day.
We spent a good part of our time fishing in the bay near the Peshtigo river mouth, though we also caught a couple in front of the Oconto mouth the one morning we fished there. The last day we did well drifting several hundred yards downwind from Peshtigo.
We used the Park landing on the Bay the 1st 2 days. On the last day we used the landing at the Peshtigo River mouth. No problems launching a Tuffy 1760 at either landing, though I was warned to take my time and look for pilon hazards when using the Peshtigo landing.
I almost exclusively used a #6 Rippin Rap while my Uncle stayed with a jig and plastic. Our catch rate was almost identical for the weekend. The Rap did catch a couple more fish in the over 25 inch range but my Uncle came away with the 30.25 on a 3/8 oz jig head with fairly small twister tail. Overall both presentations worked well.
Depending on days and time of day we caught fish from 4 to 12 feet deep. Just had to fish different depths till we found what was working best at the time.
Overall we didn't run into very fast fishing but caught enough to keep us interested and enjoyed spending some time on this massive body of water.
