Went fishing at the pier at 248th and 73rd around 2 pm today and the pan fish were biting. Lots of action for me. Caught small/medium blue gills, pumpkinseed (sunfish), a decent sized rock bass, small perch on night crawlers. Also, when fishing, a very large snapping turtle - around 10 lbs at least and a foot and a half long with a very worn shell also bit the hook and when I saw this massive snapping turtle come up -- I am like no way I am losing my fingers so I cut the line. At first I honestly thought I had snagged the weeds or the bottom. However, it started to take my line out when I lifted it up carefully so I knew it was something quite big. AGAIN 2 hours later, the same snapping turtle was on the end of my line AGAIN. I let him fight and gave him lots of slack and he finally let go. Never have I ever seen a snapping turtle that big in Wisconsin waters! Lots of action to be had here if you are looking for bass and pan fish right now --- and apparently turtles!
