AIR TEMP

We found the crappies in their pre-spawn feeding frenzy in 6 feet of water on Wednesday morning. Caught 16 keepers, 13 of which were females.  On Thursday we went to the same bay, and found the crappies in 4 feet of water. Caught 30, with only 3 females in the catch.  It was fast action.

Fished Sunday afternoon for about 5 hours targeting crappies. Fished a bunch of different spots and didn't catch a single one. Caught one bluegill over 9 inches on a minnow, a few small bass, and a northern. Water temp was around 64 degrees most places.

Fished this afternoon, jigged  and had tip downs out. No action on the tip downs.  Caught 10 small panfish.  Pretty slow compared to how it's been this year.  Might have to make a move with the permanent shack.  Can't complain however, got my 2 year old son out and he was entertained with the little fish.  As safety dude said, north Landing weathered the warm snap pretty good.  I was able to get to the shack without any problems.  BIG THANKS to the guy who plows this lake!  I believe it is otter lake bait?  They will definitely get my business.

Might be answering later than what you wanted. Wasn’t bad actually the north landing and plowed area was easy travel. For me and my 4x4 traveling anywhere snow covered was interesting but passable

Any reports on what condition the north end landing is in as of today?  Thinking of taking my son out but not sure what to think.  If I go, I'll post a report.

Thanks

Waxing Gibbous

Drove in on south end yesterday really bad condition. Water and slush almost got stuck. The bait shop posted warning this morning not to drive on south end, dangerous holes developed under slush. North end was OK last night but with the warm Temps today not going to risk it. Entire lake had standing water and slush.

As for fishing caught 33in northern, and 9in bluegill nothing else was biting.

Stopped by otter after fishing miller dam all morning. i just went out off the south landing to mess around a while. caught a ton of dink perch and a few crappie. nothing of size. The south end of the lake is really soupy. there was an inch or two of water under the snow ever where i went. I did talk to the guys that plow and they said the north end is plowed heading south, but they had to stop due to the water/snow weight on the south end. From what i understand the ice is in good shape once youre north of the aerators on the south end.

The only reason I know about it is because he's a ancestor of mine.

Here's a little more about him.
