MOON PHASE (8%)
Waning Crescent

Good news Vegas.  They had a musky outing on Okauchee Sat morning & MCW mentioned 400 muskies made it in. I will take 300-400 anyday (thx alot guys).

And speaking of muskies. I was fishing for perch today in 4-5 feet of water and had a nice perch about 5 feet from the boat when a dark shadow that would make jaws look like a minnow came out of nowhere and inhaled my perch.  I fought this beast on my 5 foot shakespeare with 4 pd test for a couple minutes before a nice tail kick & she AND my perch were gone. Definitely upper 40's to low 50s fish.  Casted for another hour trying to get that perch back

Walleye update:  We are now over $5000 dollars.  I also have been told it will be $7200 for the 4000 walleyes ($1.80/fish).  So we are 70% towards our goal.  Thx so much everyone, Mike K, MCW, Musky Mike's, etc.

No longer at launch.  Very little traffic with it already being full.  I did sell 5 shirts & received a couple of donations so not bad.  Wanted to alert folks that I started a page on facebook called Okauchee Lake walleyes.  Trying to set up fundraiser through them.  I am NOT a facebook guy so bare with me as I try and figure this stuff out.  I also appreciate suggestions.

We are over halfway there.  Less than 3000 dollars to make our goal.  For everyone who contacted me about shirts, please order through facebook, go to Musky Mike's, message me to set up delivery, etc.  Thanks again everyone.

The last time I caught them we were on the North End of the lake fishing over the top of them standing weeds in 10 feet of water

Was out yest 8am-12. No wind & clear skies.  I was doing some mapping with my autochart live (it makes you realize how off the lakemaster & navionics chips really are. Trolled a 6 inch slammer & 8 inch cisco colored minnow bait. Caught another 30 inch musky (got 1 picture b4 my camera died that jumped like crazy, then a nice upper 30's musky, 5 pike, 2 largemouth & 1 smallie.

Walleye Fundraiser Update: $4212 raised (2106 walleyes)

I am now pushing for 5000 walleyes instead of 4000.  Coming in 10-14 days,  Will be at launch area sat 5:30 until son's football game at 0900. Then sun again.  Plz come by and donate or buy a T-shirt, even $5 donations help.

Clarification on raffles:  If you buy a T-shirt, then you are entered into all 3 raffles automatically.

Thx, Badge

Shallow crankbaits around docks should get you some bass/pike without much effort.   Something like a Mann's Minus 1 baby would work for that.

Bomber shallow A would be good also if you can find them.

If you have a boat just find the edges of the weeds and fish the edges with jigs or crankbaits that dive to the appropriate depth.  Swimbaits like the northland mimic minnow would probably work as well.

For bluegill, get some 1 inch gulp minnows and small 1/32 black jig heads fish off bottom and jig with yo-yo retrieve or put them on a bobber for smaller kids

Just some general advice, I have not fished this particular lake but I have fished nearby similar lakes and that general advice did work well for me from a kayak.

Hi everyone I just joined Lake-Link we're having a family reunion and they picked a small home on Lake Okauchee. We have six children coming up with us. Wood anyone be willing to share any basic advice or tips for this Lake at this time of year?

Our first priority would be to entertain the kids when they're all together safely. Bluegills would be the first choice.

For the two older ones that I can keep with me early morning hours,  late-night hours. Some tips for getting into a few larger fish would be really appreciated.

From what I've been reading this lake is known a little bit more for LM, Pike, and Crappie if I'm not mistaken ?

Thank you
