Thanks for the report and the heads up about the guy shooting... the black specs are in every lake up here and will cause you no harm. I have eaten fish out of there for the past 35 years. Also if you do some research about the black spots they are nothing that we need to worry about. Just a little info for you in case you come back.. Glad the lake treated you well..
first time here in 15 or so years. beautiful little lake. If the fish don't bite at least you can watch them with the super clear water out here. Caught bluegills, crappie, bass, and sunfish. Highlight of the time was a mid 20 inch northern trying to eat my sunfish. Reason I was not back more often in the past was the fish had a lot of black specs. Bluegills were still chuck full of black specs. Still great lake to fish---just won't keep anything out of here.
To the guy in the green house shooting geese off his lawn and shooting at them in the lake, one more shot was going to get you a call to the DNR/cops. I really could care less about you shooting sky carp, but feel free to look at what is 30 yards behind the geese. That would be me!!! and another boat. Did not much appreciate the ricochet.
Fished the North end early morning with my dad and a buddy got five keeper gills, moved to the south end around 10 until 1:30 and picked up 14 more keepers. Tungsten jigs tipped with waxies did the trick all day. Between the three of us caught about 80-90 gills.
Catchnfillet I think that was Holliday's point. You used monona bay and Fox lake for examples of not being "secrets either" that's exactly right and do you enjoy fishing those massive cities on ice? Can you imagine those crowds on a little Mill pond? Wouldn't take long to fish it out. I hear crappie used to b 14/15" in Fox lake. What's the Ave now? 10"?
Ice is good 6 where i was should be great now down to 8 here last night.Im trying a different lake close to Oxford and i will post later. All i try to do is help fellow anglers and i get critisized by someone i know,is just wrong.I mean i like JH but if he has a issue i prefer for him to contact me directly.Tight lines fellas
