"At the drop, the ned rig again can be good as well as a drop shot"
I agree, but i have to say, if you are limiting your drop shotting to deep weed edges in the summer, you are missing out on the true versatility of a drop shot. Its good, no great, year round....its not just a deep water techique.

Anders,
Try Senkos or ned rigs when they are shallow. As the water warms you can try top water, Zara Spook, poppers etc. At the drop, the ned rig again can be good as well as a drop shot. I have used paddle tails successfully in both areas as well, just change the jig head size accordingly. Good Luck!

Water: 58°
Went out early AM for smallies, main lake flats had some roaming and I could see a lot more on the livescope suspended right on the breaks. Water temp was 55 to 60 (further north the warmer it got) so I would assume I would see more shallow action than I did. Or maybe these smallies spawn deeper not sure haven't fished the spawn for smallies really before. Any insights? Ended with 1 average pike on the stunna jerkbait. Threw jerkbaits, jigs, hairjigs, crankbaits lots of lookers
