MOON PHASE (10%)
Waning Crescent

CONDITIONS
Cloudy

ICE DEPTH
16 inches

AIR TEMP
36° - 40° F

Fished this twice in the last 7 days.  Last week I caught nothing but small blue gills.  Marked lots of fish, they would take the bait, then all of a sudden would catch about 6-8  small blue gills.  Marked lots of fish, assume they were the small ones.  Yesterday I went and there is little snow from the parking lot on levee road to the pond.  Pulling the sled is a chore.  At the pond there is 4 inches of water at the edges with mushy ice on the pond.  I didn't venture out very far from shore and the fish were not biting.  I caught a couple of very small gills, one silver carp and one very small walleye about 3-4 inches.  I was using red spikes.  I don't intend to go back this year unless the weather conditions change.  I noticed that there have been others fishing here due to old holes drilled.  I  usually never see anyone out there.  If you go in from levee road watch out for the dog crap on the trail and the water that is flowing across at about the mid point between the two marshes.  I would say with the water on the shoreline forming that unless we get some colder weather this pond is not safe to fish.

Fished the last two wks before Saturdays warm up. Caught a few gills and a few nice size crappies on waxies. Probably will not venture out for the 3/4-1 mile walk due to no snow on the trail. Marked quite a few fish but they would bite only intermittanly. A wheeled cart will be necessary to get back there now..

Jigging and once again nothing. Nothing on the locator, no bites. Looks like very little to none other fisherman have been going there. Last time I caught any substantial fish was December of 2013. Sad

I have gone out a few times in the last couple of wks and have not caught a fish. Today I had a one bite, marked a few but nothing else. Fishing in about 8 feet and marked a couple of fish at 3 feet. No one else by the looks of things has been out there. It was somewhat difficult pulling the sled out this morning and worse on the way back due to the lack of snow. I think until more snow arrives it would be difficult to make the 1 mile walk back in pulling a sled.

I haven't caught a fish here since mid Dec. I have talked to several fisherman and same story. I was out yesterday nothing on the depth finder. Previously in mid Dec i had fish on the screen look at my wax worms but no takers. This pond is located off of I 39, access from Levee rd about 1 mile walk or off of Hwy 33 thru the woods. The flood of 2010 put a lot of different fish in this pond. Seldom fished pond this winter. The general depth is about 8'. This is located in Columbia county just outside of Portage.
