11 1/2 inches long and 11 inches around... she lived to spawn!
Good bluegill bite the last couple of days. Pretty much constant action today fishing 6 FOW with various jigs tipped with wax worms. Ice is good, over 12 inches where we fished. The snow and sleet on top of the ice makes traction much better!
Fished with Nate and Jenny yesterday targeting panfish. I have no idea how many bluegills they caught but it was a bunch! They kept a nice bunch for a couple of family fish fries. Small jigs tipped with a big red produced the most bites. Minnows produced a few nice gills along with several bass and this bonus 18 inch walleye! Beautiful morning to fish. Hard to believe it is mid November. Sounds like cooler weather coming which should get the walleyes going!
Thanks for reading my reports, and have a good week!
Fished south of PdC below train tracks. Started catching bass on crank baits. Moved further south and found walleye kept 2. Back to main channel below a wing dam caught sheephead and some very silver fish that must have just escaped a gar, still bleeding. A fun morning.
Fished Pool 10 yesterday on a scouting trip with my buddy Ted/Legend! We targeted panfish, catching fish on all four spots we fished. Did real well until the stiff West wind started blowing making anchoring difficult. Kept a nice mess of bluegills and perch. Our rig consisted on a slip bobber with a Bimbo Skunk tipped with a small chunk of worm. There is a pretty big mayfly hatch going on right now.
Thanks for reading my reports and have a good weekend!
I have been scouting for a bass tournament out of Praire du Chein where you can fish Pools 11, 10, and 9 and have been catching some fish. But only 14-16 inchers. Doing some research I heard that the bass fishing is better in pool 9 and has bigger fish, also heard thats where a lot of the tournaments in Praire Du Chein are won! I am just wondering is the bass fishing the same worse or better in 9? Or if its better or the same in pools 10 and 11? I would appreciate any help Thanks
