Hello everybody, I am going to be in the area this weekend for a wedding and have never fished the Mississippi being the fact I live in Green Bay. I'm going to be staying at the holiday inn on pearl street and would like to try for some walleyes. Just wondering if somebody could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. PM me if you would like I can trade some valuable knowledge of the fox and bay if you want as well. Thanks in advance Ryan.

Anyone fishing the BFL tournament out of lacrosse Sept. 12th-13th on the boater side that hasn't signed up yet that would want to sign up with me to guarantee our spots, I am signing up on the non-boater side so I'm looking for a boater. Also if you would like to PM me I am thinking of heading up there a couple days early and would love to jump in someones boat for a day or two for a little practice and if you wanted to have another line in the water. Thanks

Try the rocks along the rest area of dresbach (west side of channel). The rocky shoreline is just south of the upper I-90 launch. I usually fish there NOW for walleyes. GL

Does anybody know of a place around here where a guy could catch walleyes from shore during the spring?

It has been awhile since i have been walleye fishing, but I got out today for a bit after turkey hunting. I have not seen much chatter of many reports on the river, so I figured it would not be stellar. I caught a total of four fish in about as many hours, and nothing very decent. I saw very few fish being caught, except of a few perch off the wall. The water is high, dirty and cold (38 degrees). It is fishable, but do use caution. If you are putting in at Dresbach I would advise rubber knee boots on account of the docks being partially flooded. This March weather for the past two months has to break sometime. I am waiting for the back waters to warm enough to target other species of fish.

walleyeman120 - this time of year, I have found hole hopping is the key. Have to find where the O2 line is and focus on that depth range. The "Run N Gun" approach to see where they are more apt to cruise seems to work best.

Tight lines

A friend and I fished behind Gundersen today and yesterday. Yesterday we were in 15 fow. 14-16 inches of ice. We could see many large bluegill, bass, and medium size crappie on the camera. I was very impressed with the size and numbers, however, they were not interested in anything we were droping. No luck on tip-ups either. We tried just about every thing in our tacklebox. We went back this morning and had the same results. They are in there but from what we have seen on camera, they seem to be pretty well fed. We moved to lake onalaska at 11 am and caught some perch and crappie. Good luck to all.
