I posted on Lake Redstone, but looking for other lakes in Sauk county and somewhere to at least catch some blue gills or crappies. I live in Sauk City. Don't even need to be big, just some action for m 5 and 8 year olds. Any thoughts? I fished in a ice fishing tournament many years ago on the lake, but had access to 4 wheeler where now would have to walk out.

Fished here this past Saturday, managed a couple juvenile largemouth and one 18" Pike all on topwater frogs. Trolled crankbaits around for a while, marked a lot of fish with down imaging but they were finicky. Also got one real nice gill on a crawler.
Good Luck out there, enjoy the scenery!
Heading up for a camping trip in a couple weeks. Will be bringing a small fishing boat along. Sounds like there is a wide variety of fish in here. I saw a lot of past ice reports but very few soft water reports. Any info anyone can share via PM would be greatly appreciated! Baits? Depths? Dangerous areas? Again, thanks!!

Went out Saturday across from the boat landing in the State park, great day to be out but they weren't biting. We were fishing in and on the edge of the weed bed and marked a lot of fish but nothing was interested in biting. My buddy used his aquavu and he could see fish of varying sizes. Was jigging wax worms and had tip ups with shiners set in shallow water towards the shore and on the edge of weed bed in deeper water. No flags at all and only caught one bluegill jigging.
