Has anyone else been out lately in the Mequon area? I've been out a handful of times and just gotten small pike. Wondering if anyone has been having any success. I know ice is starting to get a little thin in the Mequon area Sad I've been punching anywhere between 5-8 inches so far this year.

Kletzch Park is that dam and true much better for salmon. I fish other fish in Mequon but have never caught a salmon although they do get to the damn at times.

Heading to this spot this weekend and hoping to get into some good fishing. Has there been any Salmon or Trout pulled from this area recently?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Out for three hours for smallmouth, did not even waste time pulling a jerkbait today, straight to the jig-n-craw. Had about 25 bites but only landed 7. Fish were really nailing it when dragged slowly over rock but I suspect they were "nose crushing "the bait, as they are apt to do to stun craws. Despite my horrible hook up percentage, the best 5 went 21#, real "Tiger Pigs".

Walked the bank; had a few bites; then caught and released a nice smallie about 16" and somewhere over a pound. Nice fight but when I got him in hand noticed it had been in a scrap or two before.

Talked to another fisherman who was set up in what is supposed to be "the spot" and he had caught and released five smallies, the largest being about 10" in length.

Fished for about an 40 minutes over lunch. I worked from the dirt loop down to the dock with a spoon; then back up from the dock to the dirt loop with an inline spinner. No luck.

The current is way up, even for this location. I had hoped that the embankment would have slowed the current here but no. The dock was partially submerged towards shore where it is lower.

I saw a lot of small tadpoles in the shallows.

Fished for about 40 minutes. Didn't catch anything, but I had one bite. First time fishing at this park. There was an open boat launch, lots of parking, and lots of shoreline to fish the river.

I found a pair of glasses by the boat launch pier. PM if you think they are yours.
