Menasha Dam, Winnebago County
MOON PHASE (11%)
I went out on Saturday to try to get some eyes. The bite was very slow, but the sheepshead wouldn't stop being caught. We ended up catching a nice sized sheepshead. If you want to go check out my video click here.
Judging by the giant red sign above their head that says "stay back 500 feet" I believe it is not allowed. The only way to fish that side is to take a boat up and stay back from the dam or get out and wade. It isn't any better than the dam side so I never understood why people go through the hassle.

Fished from 8pm till 10pm. Working up and down the river, and i must've snag onto a Huge Sturgeon down by the shelter. Used a 1/8 VMC moon-eye jig and maxi plastic. I saw 2 guys on their boat anchored on the Dam, is that allowed?

Stopped down the other night and had to fish hard to get a couple eyes. Have heard of people doing well down here. Would be nice to finally have some good years of walleye fishing again on the river. As spring moves in I encourage people to take pictures and toss those big females back. Also only keep what you need to eat. Personally, I'm going to start only keeping 3 myself. This is a small body of water that gets fished hard. I realize people can do whatever is legal, but it would be nice to have years of countined quality walleye fishing.
