Fhomerun 1,

When is the fisheree? You posted the 30th, but the town schedule of events has it the 3rd Saturday of January (23rd?). Just want to get it straight. Thanks.

FishNDude55 Palmyra Lions Club has stocked Lower Spring Lake since 1995. Last year we had 13 Legal Northerns entered at our Fisheree the largest over 40 inches and 2 over 38 inches. The funds made at our Fisheree allow us to keep stocking it. The last stocking was fall of 2013. 450 12" Northerns - $2925. Please give our Fisheree a try. We give hourly fish prizes for Bass, Northern and Panfish. All for a $2 raffle ticket! We set up our own beer and food tent. It's a lot of work but worth it. Smile

Lower Spring Lake is the one closest to the village of Palmyra. It was not affected by the dam breaking. Upper Spring Lake is the one off Mill Rd to the east of town. It was the one affected.

I agree with fishndude. I grew up coming out here slaying the slab gills and crappie to be had. Since the dam broke it isn't he same not to mention the mass amount of perch and pike taken every year and hung up during the jamboree! Kind of a waste to have a jamboree on a tiny lake that used to be a premier lake for ice anglers!

I have a question for those having the Jamboree on this lake. Why??? Why have a Jamboree out here? This lake hasn't rebounded since the damn breaking. I used to fish this lake as a kid and since then its never been the same. Why not have that Jamboree on a lake that makes more sense. Like Whitewater or Beulah. Sure there are some pike in there and some OK bass. Sounds like a lazy mans Jambo.
