Fished lone stone first time on Sunday targeting crappies. Caught none. Lots of little gills and perch, few large and small mouth bass. Fished inside and outside of weed edges with minnows. Lake map shows weeds in deeper water but I found none deeper than 7ft. Drove 1.5 hrs to get there. Was told it was a Great Lake for Crappies. Forgot my ice fishing jigs at home so only used gold hooks.

Just a quick question. Where exactly is the launch on this lake? I'm coming up here at the beginning of August and am just using canoes so I'm scoping out some of the smaller more secluded lakes in the area. Thanks!

Anyone still fish this lake at all? My family used to own a cottage right by the boat launch about 20 years ago or so. We caught some big wallys and musky's on there back in the day. Havent been up there in a long time but we might try to make it up that way via sled this winter.

there is a real sharp turn in the road on Military road and you can see the lake from Military Rd. .I think it is called Lone Stone road and it is a public launch with no fee, but it is a shallow landing.the lake has a lot of cabbage weeds in it across from the landing.

Does Lone Stone have a decent landing and if so, how do you get to it? Is there a sign off of Military Road? And lastly, is it a National Forest landing that my window sticker allows me access?

Thanks Guys...

Most lakes up north have 6-10 inches of ice.

Any information out there on Lone Stone Lake? By lake-link's lake finder, the lake supports a wide range of fish, from Musky, Pike, Walleye, Perch, and both Large and Small Mouth Bass.

Has anyone fished this lake before?
