MOON PHASE

Sorry, I should have included that. I only ever fished it for musky. A coworker has a cabin on it, if I recall correctly. He does well on bass, smb and lmb.

Thanks for the tips.  What types of fish did you catch along those weed lines?

Its been a few years since I've fished little. There is a nice weedline and hump in front of the prison on the north side and another good weedline on the north side of the channel as you head into big tom. Those are the only two spots I've had success on. If you venture into big tom there is a good deep weed edge on your right that runs quite a ways up to a big rock. That area is good as well. Good Luck

Seems like a pretty inactive site here.  But, I will coming up for a stay at the American Legion cabins this coming week and want to do some fishing.

I am most interested in Walleye, Northern and Musky.  Any tips or tactics or spots would be great.

Thanks,

Bruce

I can deal with catch & release on Walleye.  I can eat the sunnies.  So, if it is catch and release only, does that mean the numbers are low and the catch rate as well?

As of now, the Walleye fishing on Little Tom is Catch and Release only. The Pike are sparse. Smallmouth Bass fishing is very good for numbers of fish. After about the 3rd week in May there is some panfishing near shore, but the water is clear and the fish can be spooky. Don't be surprised to run into a Musky or two.

I am hoping to come up for a week this summer and stay in the Legion cabins.  I was wondering what a good time of the summer would be fishing wise.  I like the Pike and Walleye and my buddy is into pan fish.  I am hoping we can have a good time with both.

PS:  I don't want to battle the crowds on opening weekend.

Any advice would be welcome.

Late report: was out on 12/28/12. Slow action but the bass were biting. Variable ice ~3.5" under lots of slush in some spots in the back bay though I'm sure it's firmed up some with the cold nights we've had in the last few days. Most spots were at least 6". Fish on

Fished on Feb 28th & 29th all around the rock pile. Our group put in maybe 10 hours of ice time and had 4 flags in total. 3 snakes and one decent eye. Tried jigging, but all the perch are about 3 inches. Gave up and put out all tips.

Saw guys fishing the hump, but didn't look like they were doing anything either. Front came through, bite should have been better.
