I was out by the locks last week with the grandkids.  We only got some small perch.  Ice was OK and should be better since we have had some colder temps.

Looking to fish this lake for first time in 45 years. Thinking of going by the tresel just off Tayco St. Good spot? Is it safe. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Out today with my son, he caught some slab gills. Dark green gill pill tipped with a waxie and red spike. I usually have 2 of everything, not today! Caught a nice crappie on a beaver dam, real small treble hook and a crappie minnow. 10" of ice where we were. Great day to be outdoors!

We have seen trout at the menash dam for years. Have heard of them being caught on winnebago also.

Went out Tuesday 2-9-16 and slammed the perch in the morning from 7-11. Most were sixes with some nines. Saw three thirteens come up but not attack. Red or pink jigs worked best with wax worms. Once you had a school on you, they could take your bait but you could drop your jig back and they wouldn't care. By tressle bridge in menasha

The trout I'm talking about, I don't know what they exactly were. Best bet would be Browns. I know they were not shad or suckers. They would swim in schools of three and were on average 15 inches long. I did see another smaller one on Tuesday 2-9-16 but it was alone. Also I know they are not walleye or sauger. Best I can identify them as is Browns.

While it is unlikely, a guy did catch a laker on Winneconne in the not too distant past. How that one ended up there is anyone's guess. I could see a brown somehow making it there via interconnecting streams and such. Let's also not forget this is all connected to Green Bay at the end of the road.
