Fished today around lunch for 2 and a half hours. 2 others with me. Not even a bite. Tough time to fish and tough time of year, but thought we'd get into something. Did see others on the lake so maybe they had some better fishing than us. First time on the lake....

Heading up tomorrow. After some research, we will be trying for my son's first muskie elsewhere, probably Ballard.

I did find that there has not been any muskie stocking since 1999. I don't know if there is any natural reproduction at all, so if not, there would be very few fish from that year class remaining.

Thanks to those of you who helped me.

Big Musky around the corner use to be good too,10 yrs ago.Fishing has just gone bad all over the state. Was at my favorite trout stream in Bayfield county last week.Haven't been there in 20 yrs,all the holes have filled in with silt and sand and no trout to be found. The DNR knows how bad it's become but won't tell people the truth on account of how much money is involved with tourism in WI.Glad I'm an old man seeing how bad things have become.

I've fished this lake for the last 30 years and the last ten it has started to slide down hill. The last 4 years, it sucks. After reading the posts, it makes sence now, they've spear the crap out of it. I've stopped fishing a few other lakes for the same reason. You used to beable to go out there and get a dozen nice gills and perch. What happened to them, over harvedt? Lucky to get half a dozen perch and gills combined, that aren't keepers

This is the trend of the lakes located in the the ceded territory. Step by step, the lakes are being ruined and it's only a matter of time before most lakes will be ruined and depleted of its game fish resource. Look what happened on the Minocqua Chain?????

Probly done on purpose to spite "us". Me and friends lost a giant muskie here a few years ago sucker fishing in the fall. A gem of a lake with potential if resources are respected

Chemist, L/J has been hit very hard with spearing over the last number of years. The reports I've read are not a true indication of how this small lake has been raped of its resources. 10 years ago, we could raise 5 to 10 skies a morning. Now, its like 1 or 2 - some days being a little better or worse. Haven't seen many of the big pigs in there over the last couple years. Not looking to paint a grim picture...but its reality. We were disgusted by what we found there the week prior to Memorial day weekend (this year). Normally you see a few dead suckers from spearing along the shore. We saw both small walleyes and small muskies that had been speared and discarded or mortally injured and died later. Either way, I think it was a pathetic waste of resources. Granted, I know there is a mortality to Catch and Released fish. But most guys are very careful in handling a fish and respecting them. Its another to run a tine in and out of them and pitch back in the water for whatever reason.
