was out today and didnt see any open water towards the middle. i wasnt looking for it but still to b safe id watch out. ive fished this lake for a while and to the best of my knowledge there are not any aerators. there is still a bit of slush around the springs but most of it has frozen back up.

got a chance to get on the ice the other day. it was cold and slow. couple gills caught all released ... like i said it was slow. im puting this post on becuase i would like to warn guys that are planing on ice fishing on this lake. straight off the small landing pretty much right in the middle of the lake there are two pipes about a foot under the ice. im guessing this is for an airrator? the water around these two pipes was open which exposed about a 15 inch hole of open water. this water is about 35 deep according to the marcum. i have ice fished this lake for two years now and never knew about these pipes and there are no signs posted by the open water. be careful if walking out on the ice while its dark. someone needs to post this by the landing or something! Worried

Thanks LL21. If I get a chance I'll talk to your dad, if he doesn't mind someone knocking on his door. I don't have a problem with walking in to the landing. Might try it a couple of times this year.

At one time we fished a small lake that was totally private. Little snakes were abundant. It took years of harvesting little pike before the sizes became respectable, the bass population also became better and bigger over 20 years of this but the Crappie population took a hit due to bigger predators. Tough to balance.

Yes all the property along the lake is private. My dad owns property on the lake right by the boat landing and every year people are trespassing on his property and going down the hill and off our dock. He doesn't mind if people park along the road there as long as people take there stuff down the boat landing instead of down our dock.

I believe everything along Lime Lake road is private. You have to drive around the lake on Lime Lake road to the north end by the boat ramp to get access. The only problem is that it's on quite a hill. Wouldn't recommend driving down there unless there is exposed gravel or you have 4x4. There used to be some parking space at the top, but i think it may have been posted over as private too. May have to park farther up the road and walk a bit. When you walk out from this end, just follow the cattails to your left and try to find the break between the weeds and drop off. Good spot for pike.

Hey Nuke, I wanted to try this lake last year as a little change, but wasnt sure where to park and access the lake. Can you park right on Lime Lake Road and walk on? Any help would be appreciated!!

Alot of people claim this lake is a dead sea. I actually had alot of fun on it during early ice last year. Don't be afraid to fish the weeds 4-10ft deep on the east/northeast side of this lake. Thats about the only way you are going to pull up any pike through the ice here. Just be quick to get to your flags or you may get tangled up in the weeds. Not so sure about late season ice though.
