Only was out for a few hours today. Bite wasn’t that hard but still boated 7. All of them were in the back bay on the West end. One nice one, others were ok 12”-14”.

Was out on Leigh this weekend. Caught a bunch of small bass again. Fished Marl bay for the 1st time ever. Had no luck in Marl bay and was wondering if Marl bay is even really worth fishing? This was only our 3rd time on Leigh Flowage. Still like the lake and the numbers it can produce. We seem to do the best in Rice bay.

I see no one has posted for Leigh for awhile. I’ve hit it a few times this summer. Caught a ton of bass. Some with nice size. Got 7 this past trip. 3 were over 16”. Best being 17.5”. Last trip out water temp was right at 70. Big ones still hanging deep. Caught them on a swim jig hanging on the drop offs. As for the smallmouth debate. Landed a 20+” smallmouth early summer in the back bay. So, yes, they are in here. However, only one this whole year.

Their are so many small bass on the lake. If you can get past all of the small ones you may find the bigger ones. Personally I do better with live bait. Leeches bouncing off bottom or slip bobber works best. I have caught a 22.5" smalley out of here. I saw a guy at landing with a 26.5 " largemouth. That's biggest I've ever seen out here. Good luck

Today was my 1st time on this lake. We started the day off at White Potato lake but left after a few hours. For some reason I'm just not a fan of White Potato.

Anyways getting back to my report. Like I said it was our 1st time on Leigh Flowage and I really like all the high cut tree's annd stumps! The only time I saw anything that came close to this was Lake Douglas in Eastern Tennessee. The tree's on Douglas were much more extreme, but it was a nice change of pace to be able to fish tree's and stumps and not just weedbeds. So we boated around 25 bass and of the I think 7 were over the 14 inch mark with only one breaking the 16 inch mark. It would have been nice to find a PigBass but there is always next time.

Anyone have any advice for me on this body of water? What's your personal bess Bass you caught out of here?
