MOON PHASE (2%)
Waxing Crescent

so, i had a warden show up to my house and said that people were complaining about me posting a picture of a short walleye. I reviewed the picture with him and agreed with him and those who thought it was short that it looks short. honestly looks 12" but it was a legal 15.5. pictures can be deceiving.  ill be sure to put a tape in my future pics! sorry about that and tight lines!

Gas augers are fine to have. That is straight from Jackson county. I call the forestry and parks dept. You are not allowed to have any combustion engine vehicles on the lake but augers are ok.

Have been there twice this year and have seen several gas augers on the ice. But not to say you can, maybe they just did not get caught. Mine is electric.

Is it true that you can't use a gas powered auger on Lake Wazee? Thanks

Wasn't able to set out a tipup before the minnow got hit, landed a nice 13" rainbow.

Damn good day of fishing for me

Where were you fishing? We were off Sherwood from 3:00 till 6:00 in about 65 feet of water on 12/31 and didn't even mark a fish.

-16 below air temp, got out on the lake early and fished till 11 or so on 12/31.

I caught about 4 browns and 3 rainbows on a white swedish pimple. I did try a ripping rap for a little bit and did have one hit on it. Also had one flag with a tip up on a shiner, but missed it. Had around 7" of ice where I was, mostly fishing in around 60 FOW.

Went out  December 31 around 10 AM. Ice was definitely thick enough to walk on around Sherwood Forest looks like the whole lake is frozen over. Didn't fish long because temperatures were -5°F "without windchill". Used crappie minnows and started at the bottom and worked up in 10 foot increments. Only got one bite but nothing else. Hopefully the artic freeze will loose its grip for some better wheather. Saw three othe ice fishers with huts across the lake.

PS... roads to lake wazee are slick so be careful
