Edit to the ice report:
We did see a couple atv's run out from Fisherman's Road toward the lights today, but they ran up onto the island, so I'm not sure if they snuck by the crack near shore or what. Regardless be careful if you are down that way.
We also crossed a new crack that opened up from the southeast tip of Rosebud Island all the way over to the tracks. It was very wet and looked to be expanding - didn't stop to check further, just relieved to make it back across tonight.
Fishing was very slow today for us, only a few perch and small gills, but my buddy did CnR a nice 31" pike.

Carpio funny you mention that spot. This year there was 1 lonely permanent shanty parked right there. Everytime I went by there never seen a soul fishing around it. That fella had the whole area to himself and was probably filling his bucket. lol
I've fished close to there, smidge to the north a bit. Good mix of gills perch and crappie. Truthfully there are so many good panfish spots on that lake. Many you could have all to yourself based on the size of the waterway.

FOWLER. Here’s another spot that’s great for perch and crappies. I go out from NELSON and go between the small island and the large one but you have to be careful because there seems to be a slight current there . There’s a channel break in there and I fish around 12’. If you go more towards the larger island in around 6-10’ you can also get gills but the ones I’ve caught there seem to fun on the small side. The last time I was there was 3 years ago and we caught perch near the power lines in the weeds but it was slow although the fish were nice.
Great ice update Drewster. I had a few people inquiring on ice conditions for the south end of the lake.
I venture out from the north and south end conditions were unknown to me. I posted a pic of the area (blue circle) out from bell island that had the crack running towards the spillway. Still somewhat visible with wet slush today after the snowfall. Last weekend ice conditions were good out from Kwik trip. We had bare ice tho. Travel from schaffers was good.

A large crack has opened along the weedline that runs from the eastern tip of Bell Island southeastward down toward the spillway. Before the snow, it looked like it was about 5 ft wide in places. I would be very surprised if it heals enough to support any kind of vehicle traffic in the next week, and I would not advise foot traffic across that area either. That means travel to the lights area from Fisherman's Road is pretty much out of the question.
Also, be advised there is a long crack running from the Sailboat club point toward Rosebud Island. It was still passable Tuesday night by ATV, but was about 2" wide near the point and looked wider about halfway out to Rosebud.
Ice was cracking like crazy earlier this week.

Went out Tuesday mid morning until 3pm off of Mosey. Jumped around quite a bit as it seemed that most the fish had tight lips. The ones that did bite were nice sized. Rosie’s on tip down got most of the action for perch. Ended up keeping a few nice perch for dinner. Most the fish were caught in the 11-12 ft range. Ice varied from spot to spot. Looking to get out this Sunday and wondering if anyone wants to team up and find a decent perch or crappie bite?
Fished yesterday 11 till dark south of halfway creek. Got a couple dozen decent crappies.kept 10 or so for a meal.fished the edge of the dredge line in 8 to 10 fow. Got a few gills and perch but mostly small. Ice is in good shape for atv travel. Landings holding up good too without trucks bustin it up. Rosies on tip downs worked best for crappies.
Ice: 14"
Out this afternoon from 1-5. Had the wheeler on the ice so headed towards the airport lights. Setup in the 5ft flat east of the lights. Good tipdown bite early afternoon then died around 3pm. Everybody was doing pretty decent chasing perch. Hit a gill spot on the way in. Mostly small stuff. Kept a couple to finish out a fresh fish fry.
Just wheelers on the ice. Didn't see any cars or trucks. Ice where I fished was 14".
