Checked the landing at Schafer's the other day for an ice report. Those 2 really cold days were unfortunately just a teaser and it's still going to be a while before ice is "safe".
Also if any of you are in need of an inexpensive insulated ice shelter, this one is currently on sale on amazon. There's an additional 20 bucks off coupon right now and if you use my discount code JBONDF10 during the checkout process the end price of this shelter ends up being like $92 after tax. I obviously haven't put it through a full ice season of use, but for that price I don't see how you can go wrong. Figured I'd share it with you while the sale is going. Check out the video for more information and the amazon link to the product.

Fished here on Saturday. Thought the storm was going miss us. NOPE! Had to take cover at the airport launch. Helped 2 gentlemen and their grandson load their boat in the rain. They gave us the rest of their minnows. Big Thank u to you guys! Fish were negative after the storm and only wanted the crappie minnows you gave us sitting on the bottom. Caught a couple fish fries worth of nice gills and perch. Most were in 9-11 ft of water. There were 3 of us in the boat so we were well under our limit. Love fishing out here.
Sunny 38°
Ice: 11"
Fished out from schafers today 11:30-3:30. Left with my 15 perch and 2 gills. My only time keeping fish out of there all winter. Ice was 11.5” in my holes. Shoreline was great on the way out and had 2-3 feet of open water flooding on top of that soft shore ice by time I left. There are many spots that are off limits and you can clearly see where you should not be walking by the color of the ice. I suppose a guy could get out one more day tomorrow but by the afternoon, that north shoreline will be blasted. This wraps up my season
