We were out from 5-10am. Don't feel bad fishing time, got 1 about every hour. Still beats watching tv. Enjoy your reports fishing time!

I tried on Saturday mid-day, probably not the best time, but that's when I had time.. Fished 150 to 80 ft and 40 ft into 25 ft near harbor entrance. Skunked, not a bite, 3 hrs on water. That has been happening a lot lately.. Water was not as cool as I expected either. Ran mixes of spoons, j plugs and couple FF. Marked thermocline down 90 to 100 ft near reef. Saw a few jumping inside the harbor. Talked to a couple other boats and they also were skunked. Will try again soon.
Fished Saturday 300-400ft, 350 seemed to be best. 48 degrees down 100. 5 for 6, 1 rainbow on a 10 color with spoon. The other 4 were on a spoon down 100, nothing on dodger fly combos. Great day to be out ended with two 3 yr old kings 2 rainbows and a smaller king

Went out Sunday 8/26 from 4am-10am. Haven't reported in a long time on here and seeing that this post is pretty dead, here we go:
5 for 5, 4 salmon and 1 lake trout. Water cooled off a lot since last trip out. Surface was about 67 degrees in closer and out to bank reef. In 150 ft water the temp break was 50 degrees 45 to 50 ft down. Out in 400 ft water the temp break moved down and was 50 degrees about 65 ft down and surface was warmer at 72 degrees. NO pattern on colors. Spoons took 4 of the 5 fish. Most of our fish came between 140 and 180 ft of water. The lake trout was out in 400 ft water. All fish hit between 35 and 55 down on lead core or down riggers. Dipsy did not have any action. Noticed heavy currents, so used dipsy rod to judge bait speed. Fish bit running faster at 2.8 to 3.0 mph GPS speed going with current. Anyone else have a report from Sturgeon Bay? Notice boats spread way out from 70 ft all way out to 400+. Wondering how the rest did?
I am looking at planning a large family vacation to Door County next year sometime. We are hoping to do both salmon and walleye fishing. None of us have ever fished Green Bay or that area of Lake Michigan, so I’m hoping you guys who are regulars to the area might be able to help me out. I am looking to find out some of the following information.
1. What would be the best month to go when we’d be able to catch both? My initial though is towards the end of June
2. Where would be the best place to stay? I’m thinking of Sturgeon Bay just because it looks like there would be easy access to both sides of the peninsula. But are there better areas with access to both sides.
3. Where are some good general areas for Walleyes and Salmon? I’m kind of making an assumption that we’d have to fish for Walleye in Green Bay and Salmon on the Lake Michigan side, but please let me know if that is not the case.
Thanks in advance for any information you're willing to provide.
Isn't any difference from Milwaukee to sturgeon bay as far as lake Michigan goes. Could be just as rough here.
Also, FYI...this Saturday starts 9-day salmon tournament. There will be plenty of boats on the water, calm or not. Good luck to everyone fishing for that big king!
