Went out yesterday just off shorewood drive landing by the big island. Very windy with people leaving just after they got there. Got a tip-up at 1pm with a 15 in walleye, released. not a nibble on anything else rest of day. Nothin. water under ice and easy to break through frozen snow layer and get stuck. Fished in 15 Fow in a stump field.
My hubby is thrilled that I am getting into ice fishing this year. I just purchased a vexilar and absolutly love it. Reading comments on this lake-link, it seems like lake alice is pretty popular for the tomahawk area. We are coming in from the south on Saturday for the day. Does anyone have any info on this lake or any other lake?
Planning a trip to take my wife ice fishing for the first time in a few weeks. We have never been to Lake Alice, or Wisconsin for that matter. We will be staying at a house off of Sunny Point road. From my research, it seems like most of the good fishing is farther west near Horseshoe. However, we want to walk out from the house. I plan to try the stump field to the South West of the little island for crappie. But, that will be too far of a hike for the wife. Will we be able to find something in the 10’ channel that runs along the east side of the lake. We will not be keeping fish, so we are not picky about what we are catching….just want to make sure she catches SOMETHING on her first ice fishing trip.
If your wanting to get out by Shorewood drive around the lake there is a landing at the end of Shorewood. People drive out there on either side of the island, I have seen people drive across the lake there to the north and to the east. The channel is very deep in that area 25+ft.
