Staying at a cabin on this lake and just went out with the spud and went right through about 30 feet from shore. No safe ice yet.

Time would be spent elsewhere. Lake was a gem before landing was put in about 25 years ago, but as most lakes, has been pounded and a below average lake at this time, but that is up to interpretation. It was only a popular lake when the railroad was active on HWY 47 and then they stopped for a beer and a burger! Good Luck

Largemouth always active on this lake. A lot of 14'-18'. Northern Pike on expecially cloudy days are active. Weed lines 10-15 feet depths seem best. But yanked nice Largemouth 5-10 feet riding right above the weeds. Nice Muskies in this lake. But never caught a legal one. Such a easy lake to fish. Early mornings, and dusk till dark are best times. for lake can get busy during the day. Expecially weekends. Goodluck. Total overlooked lake for fishing cause of location, boat ramp not a lot of parking. 4-5 rigs kinda tight Big Smile

Difficult weather made fishing hard today. Caught a 20 inch pike and a beautiful largemouth today. Also a baby Muskie. All fish were caught on a no4 mepps spinner. Had two MONSTER Muskie trail our baits. At time this lake was an overfished resort lake, but now its seems like a local gem. Will try again in late fall.
