The whitefish run can be pretty big best advice for timing is to watch on here someone will post if I were to take a guess it usually peaks around November 15th. Baits can be from small spoons to wax worms or a bead with a small hook under a bobber also small mister twisters work well

I just have a question about the whitefish run. I hear it's in November, I'm not a big hunter so was thinking of trying it the deer opener weekend. I know nothing about whitefish and just have a few questions if someone were kind enough to message me:

do you use spawn or live bait?

I don't consider myself much of a meat fisherman, but would probably keep 2 for the smoker if was luck enough to catch some.unless they're dying like salmon in the fall???

would I be too late or early in the season, or is there even any such thing as a whitefish run?

Thanks

Hello,

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will be conducting larval lake sturgeon research on the Menominee River for the next few weeks just up stream of the HWY 41 bridge, and just below the walkway bridge to Stephensen Island. Our research will be conducted in the evening from 7:00 P.M. till 1:00 A.M. Each net will be marked with an flashing buoy that will be easily visible.

Thank you and best of luck fishing,

We arrived on the 19th we fished all night til 5 am between us we landed 14 fish sizes were all over twenty inches They opened the dam again at 3 am so fishing slowed at that point. We caught more female than males . But the males we caught were milking And they were aggressive on striking. Watche more than 40 people catch thier limit abd leave through the night. Im sure by mid week the race will be on full. Tounge Out

Pretty slow last night from the bridge. Saw a few males caught and one small female.

Im seeing just below 40° on the wolf river cams. In the past when i start seeing walleye on there cams it is within a couple of days they run in menominee. The wolf is not that far south of the menominee so theyare pretty close. Has anyone actually took a temp of the water in menominee.
