Haven't seen many reports lately. I've tried a few times in the last 2 weeks for walleye both chaudoirs and larsons reef, only 4 eyes boated in 3 trips out. So today I tried for perch...and was the right decision! 3 man limit of 45 taken in just 4 hours! Perch are usually a well kept secret but they are in the bay...got mine in 28 fow.

fished sat and sun out of the dock.  heard of some perch being caught on fri night so decided to go for perch on saturday.  had to work for em but put 18 nice ones in the boat.  tried walleyes on sunday..  caught fish on both worms and cranks on and around the reefs, but the bite was a bit tougher than the last few weekends.  color didn't seem to matter

fished friday sat and sunday out of the dock.  walleye fishing still good on and around the reefs in 20 to 25 feet.  i trolled both worms and cranks and caught fish on both.  color doesn't seem to matter.  not as many boats this weekend.  I think the waves kept the smaller boats away.  also tried for perch for a few hours both sat and sunday and struck out.  have not heard of anyone catching any perch. i personally have caught more perch trolling walleyes than actually fishing for perch.

walleye fishing was very slow in the weeks leading up to the 4th of july, but our nation's birthday seemed to finally turn the fish on.  many boats fishing the reefs around chaudoir's and by the nets in the water, looked like everyone was doing well.  some people jigging, some trolling.  Myself, I trolled harnesses on the 4th and caught fish.  got back up north friday pm and tried cranks and caught fish.  good results on cranks on saturday also.  lots of sheeps as usual.  fish seemed to be in 20 to 25 feet on or near the reefs.  color didn't seem to make a difference

Anyone hear how the perch fishing is off bayshore up to chaudoirs? Not looking for your secret spot, just seeing if its worth the hunt!

the prevailing north winds continued this weekend keeping the temps down and the walleyes sluggish.  did get out saturday am from about 8 to noon fishing north of the dock for the first time this year.  did manage 3 eyes in the boat. didn't see many nets in the water.  woke sunday am to 4 footers and not a trailer to be seen in the parking lot.  looks like we should get some south winds this week which will hopefully turn things on for the weekend
