the prevailing north winds continued this weekend keeping the temps down and the walleyes sluggish. did get out saturday am from about 8 to noon fishing north of the dock for the first time this year. did manage 3 eyes in the boat. didn't see many nets in the water. woke sunday am to 4 footers and not a trailer to be seen in the parking lot. looks like we should get some south winds this week which will hopefully turn things on for the weekend

Water temps were cooler than what we fished out of Bayshore last weekend. No fish today but saw one boat catch one. Strained the water with harnesses and body baits near the bottom from 8-noon. We changed up the colors trolling from Chaudoir's to Sugar Creek, in 12-20 FOW. Nothing worked on a fairly nice day to be on the water.

was able to get out for a couple hours sunday am before i headed home to hang out with mom for mother's day. trolled from shoemaker down to red river. boated 1 walt when I was setting up and 1 more when I was quitting and a whole lot of squadoosh in between. temps by shoe were about 47 and almost 50 down by red river in the dirtier water.
fished Saturday out of chaudoirs. ran down south by red river and found some dirty water. popped 3 walleyes in short order in about 12 feet, but they shut off when the north wind picked up. surface temp started out around 48-49 in the am but was down in the 45s in some areas when I quit around 1pm. lots of boats but not too many nets in the water. prolly 40 boats out on Saturday am, but only 6 or 7 boats out on sunday am. my guess is Saturday was discouraging for most. was very tough sleddin for me once the wind picked up

Fished Sat. 1/27 very slow in the am. Fishing picked up at 12:18. Caught 12 whitefish in an hour and 17 minutes. All on top hook tipped with a waxie. I rarely catch one on the bottom, have been fishing a Swedish pimple. If any has other lures that work well please advise.

Saturday morning hot weather made for a great day on the water. Fished the reef to the north for a while with the perch guys then motored closer to Sugar creek. Trolled slow shallow, then deeper for over an hour. Then PK caught a 20 inch walleye around ten AM. A nice perch bit the crawler harness but then,so did a ton of white perch and sheepshead. Caught another 17inch walter before we ran out of crawlers. The two body baits went untouched.
