Hey Guys,

The reports say that this place was drained a few years ago? Was thinking about burning a few hours in some canoes the morning of my B-in-laws bachelor party. I remember fishing here about 15 years ago in the winter. We had 50 flags in a day but that was 15 years ago. Is there any chance of us getting into the northerns again? If I don't hear back I'll maybe try the bait shop to see what they say.

Thanks for any help, Nick

Two years age they drained the marsh. It was to promote wild rice and other weeds to get started or re-started. With that being said most of the gamefish found their way down into Puckaway and further down the system. When I was out duck hunting this fall all I spotted were bluegills. Never came up on a Northern or Bass like I use to in the past when fishing was good out there. I feel it might be some time for the game fish to recover in the Marsh or another mistake of a fish planting like it happened 10 years ago.

Any one been on this water lately? We used to fish this about 10 years ago and did very well on northerns. Just wondering if the water levels fluctuate or if there is any reason for a guy not to fish here, its about an 80 mile trip for me to fish it. Thanks for any info.

not a report

want to fish this body of water and was wondering where the best place to get on or to catch fish is. all the lakes in my area are fished hard, often, and always a circus on the ice. want to get away from all the tent cities and maybe even catch some fish.

thanks for any help and good fishing

I was out in middle of marsh yesterday 6 am until 9 am with a buddy. Did ok with 6 flags, a buddy had a huge fish snap his steel leader. The ditch at the end of the gravel road was frozen but on the way in a heave near the entrance to the main lake from the ditch had open water for about 8 feet on top of the ice. We didn't catch anything over 26 inches but had fun. The 2 mile walk was a killer, good thing there wasn't much snow on the ice, it made pulling easy.
