Season with salt. Deep fry whitebass with skin on till crisp. Put in frying pan with just enough water to submerge. Chop some lemon grass with cilantro green onions and tomatoes add salt to taste. Simmer till tomatoes are reduced. Add thai peppers if you like spicy. Can also add dill. Its an asian dish.

Smoked some whitebass and it was great. Just as good as smoked carp.

Check the Gill's Landing thread that already exists. There's a few white bass being caught already. I'm sure they'll start to pick up this weekend since it's supposed to get warm. I've always considered them to be trash fish, but this year I'm going to try smoking them. If a smoker can make a carp palatable, then maybe it can do the same for a white bass.

Anybody been doing any fishing around here? I am so excited about the white bass season coming up!! My grandpa always taught me since I was a little girl that as soon as the lilacs are in bloom, the whitebass start to bite! Does anybody have a good recipe for whitebass on the grill? Message me if you do! Good luck!
