MOON PHASE (35%)
Waning Crescent

CONDITIONS
Partly Sunny

ICE DEPTH
6 inches

AIR TEMP
41° - 45° F
Fishing was a little slow and the lake travel is miserable right now. Side by sides with tracks getting stuck along with numerous snowmobiles. With only 6" of ice where we fished and all of the snow/slush/water on top, it was unsafe. I would wait a while before considering making a trip to Gile.

Wale, not sure this is the best weekend to come fish for walleye. There is a local tournament so there will be more pressure than normal out there. The travel was pretty crappy in some spots on Saturday and now we just got another 10" of snow, I can't imagine how poor the travel is right now.

MOON PHASE (93%)
Waning Gibbous

ICE DEPTH
7 inches
Did some checking around and found 7 inches in a lot of areas. Numerous slush pockets. I did not stop in the slushy areas to test the ice.

A few years ago i went to the Gile in July and then again in late August. The rock pile that laid just under the water in July was above my head when standing in the boat in August.

I want to land a 19' boat. I tried fishing the Gile one other time and wasn't able to get in because it was so low. Any bait shops or someone I could call? Thanks for the help!!!

I felt the same when I launched after not being out there since mid summer. Must be sending a lot of water over the dam.It has been quite dry the last month.

Saywer2 - I'm not saying I don't believe you, I'm just surprised. I was there in June and it seemed up.
