to sum it up: because nobody eats musky? locals don't chase muskies? they eat what the locals like to catch? and they are working on other species.... best i have for u.
Anybody know why the dnr cut musky stocking so much out here. They used to dump 2500 or so every other year. Seems like it's been super slow for the past 3 years compared to the 7 I fished before. Checked the website and there's only been 3000 put in in the last 12 years. My understanding is that there is no natural reproduction did something change?

Does anyone have any recent reports of panfish biting? I know the water is still real cold but was wonding if anyone has been catching them shallow on the warmer afternoons. A group of us are headed up this weekend. If we do anything worth reporting, I'll post it Sunday on the way home. Feel free to message me.

Is the main trail marked on the lake? And, have snowmachines been using it (ice safe)?
I've never been on this flowage and I was going to take a cruise down that way on Saturday to check it out.

Out on the lake today. Anywhere from 15-17" of ice. There is a truck out here on ice. Fished yesterday caught 1-13" out by crappie island ,walleye on Friday the 13 lol. There is anywhere from 2"-10" of snow on top of the ice. Little breezy not bad. I will be coming up with family for the 1st annual fishery.
