The wendlands ponds are in really bad shape because of the drought, the 3rd and 4th ponds are almost completely dried up as of today.

There is also a huge burm of sand under the bridge that was not there last year.

I also noticed a lot of large dead freshwater clams in the second pond.  The water went away faster than they could move apparently.

Hit wendlands at lunch, lots of big bass jumping but extremely difficult to get anything out to the locations of said jumping.  Place looks dead with the water super low.

Did get a small bass in first pond on a lipless crank.

The third pond was basically dried up with tons of Lilly pads, second pond also super low.

Couple of small bass at wendlands today in the creek on the other side of bridge.  Not a single bite in main ponds, the high winds and I guess high pressure after the storms a couple of days ago are affecting the bass bite.

Bass wouldn't hit anything except lipless crankbaits.  Spinner baits were useless.

Should be ice free now.  I have been getting some bass on other ponds even in the cold water with rat L Traps aka libless crankbaits

I will try and get out to the wendland ponds if there is a nice day this week.

MOON PHASE (44%)
Waning Crescent

We tried to fish the second pond for a bit. No bites at all, so we only fish the front pond now. I used to live right down the road when the dredged the first pond. Yes, by the bridge it is shallow.

I didn't realize the first pond was that deep, it's very shallow by the bridge.

Did you catch any in the second pond?

One month ago I was catching bass in open water and temp was 68 degrees ??

MOON PHASE
Last Quarter

My buddy and I go out a couple times a year ice fishing here. Second pond is about 3 feet deep. First pond by the bridge it anywhere from 8-10 feet deep. Stay away from the bridge unless you want to get wet! Have caught crappie, bluegills, and bass through the ice there. Nothing huge, still fun to catch. I just catch and release there though.

What a difference 2 days makes, pond 2 completely frozen over, which kind of leads me to believe it's super shallow. Pond 1 had a bit of ice on the edges.

Bass at the wendlands were hitting today :-).  Warm rain warmed up the water after a thunderstorm went through.  Also got a Gill, all on inline spinners. 4 bass and a Gill ain't bad for past the middle of November.

The bass were also launching out of the water but would not hit buzzbaits.

1/4 oz gold and silver blade spinners were key, they really didn't want anything else.

Oh and it was super windy which also helped.

All fish released unharmed.
