Look up the regulations for urban water fishing because that is what fox brook is and you will find everything you need to know. Smile

not a fishing report but more of a question.

One of my friends told me that this body of water opens up for game fish (Bass, northern, etc...) a week earlier then the regular season does. Is this true? If it is how can I confirm this(website)? Could I also call DNR and they would be able to tell me?

Please PM ME thanks

Went out today and caught a ton of panfish. There will also be a FREE kids ice fishing clinic at Fox Brook Lake Valentine's Day from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Free food and prizes for kids under the age of 15. I'd love to see you out there!

Sorry for the late report, I'm new to this site. Was out 2 weeks ago and had a decent day. Out from 9am until about noon. Caught 3 small gills and a 10" perch jigging with wax worms in about 18' of water. They were right off the bottom. We did not have tip ups out but on our way off the lake we saw a couple guys pull out a 20"+ pike 5 to 10' off the shore. Tight lines!!

Was out there last Friday and found about 6-8" of ice out on the lake. Was only out for about 3 hours with two flags and once 29" northern on the ice. Also managed to catch a decent amount of smaller gills in 25FOW. Keep the tip ups in the shallows 5-15FOW and jig between 20-30FOW or wherever you can mark fish. Have a good time and be safe out there.

I don't fish there Greg. Did a couple times...well,I fished a few more than "a couple" back when it was Schliepers but it that was a different lake in the same exact place.

98 named lakes in Waukesha county, then there's those in northern Racine county, southern Washington county...the only reason I icefished Foxbrook a couple times was it had just opened to the public.

Every year every lake is a little different. Gills a little bigger or big ones more numerous. Walleyes - when present - recent stocking just reached legal size or...or whatever changes have happened. Can't just stick to one "home lake" for years or you'll have more bad years than good.

Cds. I enjoy reading your posts. You are very knowledgeable. I can see you actually love the sport of fishing. Im not sure anybody on here works as hard as you checking conditions. Well anyway never ice fished this lake before. Thought about it as i live 10 minutes south of there. Let me know how you do. Good luck and stay dry.
